My Story
After more than 30 years in senior corporate management and over 25 years of teaching, training and presenting, I decided it was time to swap board meetings and spreadsheets for belly rubs and dog snogs!
Whilst some people dream of a quiet retirement, I chose a slightly different path. Having loved dogs for as long as I can remember, I followed my heart and turned that lifelong passion into Sonnie's Salon 'Just for Dogs'.
Life has taught me that kindness, patience and compassion matter far more than rushing from one thing to the next. That's exactly how I wanted every dog to feel when they walked through my door – calm, safe, loved and treated as the individual they are.
Sonnie's Salon isn't just a business. It's a little piece of my heart, inspired by my dad, Sonnie, and built around the belief that every dog deserves to be treated as family.
Whether it's a puppy's very first groom, a nervous rescue finding their confidence, or a senior dog enjoying a little extra TLC, every wagging tail reminds me why I chose this path.
Because for me...
This isn't retirement.
