I'm Dee O'Sullivan, founder of Sonnie's Salon 'Just for Dogs' and a qualified Dog First Aid Instructor.
After more than 30 years in senior corporate management and over 25 years of teaching, training and presenting, I made the decision to follow my heart and dedicate my career to dogs. That decision came after my dad 'Sonnie' became very sick and my priorities changed almost immediately, we work to live, not live to work, time is precious and doing something meaningful really matters.
My goal is simple: to help dog owners and professionals feel confident, prepared and able to act quickly in an emergency. Whether you're a pet owner, dog walker, groomer or canine professional, you'll leave with practical skills that could one day help save a dog's life.
Thank you for joining me today. Let's get started and learn how to keep our dogs safe, healthy and happy. ππΎ

Learn how to stay calm and respond confidently in an emergency. We'll cover the essential first aid steps every dog owner should know, including how to assess your dog, when to contact a vet and what to do whilst help is on the way.

Understand how to recognise and deal with some of the most common canine emergencies, including choking, poisoning, cuts and wounds, road traffic accidents, heatstroke, burns, seizures, allergic reactions and broken bones.

Gain hands-on experience of canine CPR and learn how to respond if a dog stops breathing or their heart stops beating. You'll have the opportunity to practise key techniques and understand when and how to use them.

Discover how to prevent common accidents, what to include in a canine first aid kit and how to spot early warning signs that something may be wrong. Early recognition and prompt action can often prevent minor issues from becoming major emergencies, potentially reducing treatment costs and helping your dog recover more quickly.
